Founded nearly seven decades ago, State Tool & Manufacturing Company is a family-owed and operated business specializing in standard and custom electro-mechanical devices including switches, light sockets, convenience outlets, wiring harnesses among others.
The company currently operates a 25,000 sq. ft. assembly plant plus a 26,000 sq. ft. injection and compression molding plant in Benton Harbor, MI. Designing, prototyping, testing, molding and stamping are all done in-house to maintain quality and low competitive prices for the customer.
State Tool & Manufacturing Company has an impressive client list which includes many internationally and nationally recognized names such as Whirlpool Corporation, Electrolux, LG, Dow Chemical, Samsung, Burner Systems, General Electric, B/S/H Appliances, Hill-Rom Industries, L.C. Doane Company, Dynamic Cooking Systems, Viking Range, Norcold, Sandenvendo and many more.
Originally named State Tool & Gage, the company was established in 1955 by a small group of entrepreneurs manufacturing only tools specializing in trim dies for the die cast industry.
Burcliff Industries of Mishawaka, Indiana moved the operation to Mexico in 1977, manufacturing a few of the same parts produced today at State Tool & Manufacturing Company. Within one-and-a-half years, business declined dramatically due to the inability to meet delivery schedules so the operation returned to Benton Harbor in 1978 where it remains today.
Believing in this business, the president seized the opportunity to purchase State Tool, he renamed it State Tool & Manufacturing Company. In 1992 State Tool purchased the assets of Circle F and added the well-known line of Circle F products to the current production line.
State Tool is talked about very highly at our company. We have not experienced any quality issue nor in the quoting process. Overall responsiveness with a job well done. Appreciate your assistance in all issues, expending, NAFTA certificate, asking about holiday shutdowns, etc. Keep up the good work!
